Unit Funds Facts
The Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation established a program on Oct. 1, 2010 to supplement half of the expenditures paid from DFMWR non-appropriated (NAF) unit funds, when the unit has an authorized function in an MWR activity/facility.
For example
Total catering bill to hold a unit function at McKellar’s Lodge is $3,000.
Dividends are $3 per soldier per year.
For collective benefit of Fort Bragg assigned troops.
This is not authorized for ALR Unit Funds, Reserve Components, ROTC, School Funds, Annual Training or QRP dividends, which are funded by FMWRC HQ’s and IMCOM.
Units will not request or accept NAF’s from more than one source. NAF payment for any expense involved in a change of command or retirement ceremony, command representation, protocol function, scholarships, free mailing or postage, unit ceremonies, or any other specific benefit for select individuals or groups will not be authorized. The funds are for all within the unit not a specific group.
