Each year, our country sets aside a day to focus on those who gave their lives in its service. Many Americans will have a day off on Memorial Day – Monday, May 27 – to honor them. Most of us have at least a few minutes.

Across the country, ceremonies and parades will remember the sacrifices of the fallen. Americans will place wreaths or flags at local cemeteries. Organizations, families and friends will invite the nation to remember their legacy.
